Why the Green Terrace?Terrace views

Its location! On a hillside overlooking the sea you will enjoy uninterrupted views across Almiros Bay to distant Rethmyno. The property stands entirely on its own surrounded by a large immature garden with olive trees and wild shrubs. The tinkling bells of the neighbouring sheep and goats enhances the tranquility of the setting. Their antics have provided much entertainment for our guests! At night, be entranced by the starlit night sky free from any light pollution as bats swoop over the garden.

There are three bedrooms for guests. One is a suite with a double bedroom, separate dressing room/sitting room and en suite bathroom with its own private terrace to the front and side. The others rooms are also a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and own private terrace. All rooms have sea views. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a CD player (with a wide and eclectic choice of CDs to borrow), tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and bath robes. All rooms are light and airy with cream quarry tiles and french doors opening on to their own private terracotta tiled terrace. Please note that there is a no-smoking policy throughout.

There is a large lounge for guests and a separate dining room. Breakfasts can be served on your own terrace or indoors should you wish. Optional two and three course dinners are also available and can be served wherever you wish.

The Green Terrace
is conveniently situated for all of Western Crete's attractions. Chania is less than a 30 minute drive away, but even closer are the beautiful seaside villages of Almerida, Kalives and Georgioupoli. The beautiful villages of Aspro, Douliana, Plaka and Kefalas (amongst many others) are all within 10 minutes by car.

For walkers, the Imbros Gorge and the E4 Pan European footpath are within easy reach, and locally the area abounds with quiet roads and shepherds' tracks waiting to be discovered. The south coast towns of Hora Sfakia and Frangokastelo are also within easy reach.

Even closer to home, the road to The Green Terrace ends in a rocky cove where you can either sunbathe or snorkel/dive in its crystal clear turquoise waters. To help you relax is the idyllically situated Octopus Taverna/Café Ombrogialos, where you may also be joined by the odd boat or two heading round the headland for a spot of lunch!
